BEGINNING RIGID HEDDLE WEAVING

Have you been wanting to learn to weave but didn’t know where to start? Beginning Rigid Heddle Weaving is a great place to start and Cam Sabo is a great instructor! During the one day class you will learn the parts of the loom, how to choose the yarn to use, how to calculate the amount of warp for the class project and how to warp your loom and begin weaving. You will be able to finish a sample or scarf depending on whether you want to finish your project or leave it on your loom to finish at home. Class fee is $75.00 to be paid at registration. Bring your own rigid heddle loom or you can rent a Schacht Cricket or Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom for the class for $20.00 (can be applied toward the purchase of the loom the day of the class). This class fills up quickly so call to reserve your space.

VISITORS FROM THE OPEN WOOL RETREAT AT THE LODGE AT DOUGLAS LAKE

We will be having fiber arts demonstrations in the afternoon as some of the participants of the “Open Wool Retreat” being held at The Lodge at Douglas Lake may be visiting our shop. Feel free to come shop and see the demonstrations going on whether you are attending the Retreat or not. We will be open til 5:00. Demos start at 1:30.

INTERMEDIATE RIGID HEDDLE WEAVING

Cam Sabo’s Intermediate Rigid Heddle Class is for those who are comfortable with basic warping and weaving on a rigid heddle loom but want to take it a step further. Past classes have covered Pinwheels, Houndstooth patterns, Loops, Brooks Bouquet, Clasped Weft, Warp and Weft Floats, and Danish Medallions. Patterns to be covered in the class are yet to be determined. Class fee is $20.00 plus yarn to be used. This mini class is great to inspire you to explore the many possibilities of your rigid heddle loom.

PRIMITIVE RUG HOOKING

Learn the time honored technique of primitive rug hooking with Rhonda Bryan Thistletlwaite. Rhonda is a great instructor and the organizer of The Great Smoky Mountain Hook-In returning for it’s 4th year in July 2020l Class fee is $50.00 and beginning kits can be purchased from our selection prior to class. You can bring your own frame and hook or use one of ours for the class. This is a great way to try our different rug hooking frames and hooks before you purchase one.

COCOKNITS SWEATER WORKSHOP (1 of 5)

Sign up for our second Cocoknits Sweater Workshop. We will follow the Cocoknits Sweater Workshop Book and Video each week. Workshop fee is $40.00 plus the cost of your Workbook and yarn to knit your sweater. You will learn how to knit any sweater top down in the round - without tears! Students should be able to cast on, bind off, knit and purl in the round with a good basic knowledge of knitting. If you need to miss a class you will be able to schedule a time to come in and make it up before the next class.
